This Self-Employment Supported Internship runs alongside the Steps into Self-Employment Qualification with the added opportunity of real industry experience!

This course is for students between the ages of 16 – 25 with an EHCP who would like to become self-employed.

No formal qualifications are needed for this course. All you need is to be open to the idea of becoming self-employed!

The Supported Self-Employment Internship is run alongside the Level 1 and Level 2 Steps into Self-Employment Qualification

Each young person’s journey with us will differ. Each young person will be assigned a careers adviser who they will meet monthly. This careers adviser will then work with our work placement liaison to get the young person out and about.

Work placements at SAMEE look different for everyone, but they will always be aligned with the young person’s business idea in mind. The common ways we do work experience are:

  • One day off experience
  • Residentials
  • Block work placement
  • A set day for a set amount of weeks

Young people on this course will be working towards the level 1 qualification. Progression from this course could be:

  • Onto our adult DEBSS programme
  • Trading self-employed business

Absolutely!

This programme is not a traditional Supported Internship. This means that you can do this programme following a supported internship with another provider.

If you are either the young person, or a parent carer of the young person, please feel free to get in contact with Sianell on sianell.white@sameecharity.org for more information.

We would love to invite you in for a chat!
