AF - Baker - Bakes from the Heart
My name is Alissa and I am registered as severely sight impaired. My business is baking and the focus will be cakes and biscuits. I would like to extend my selling bubble and get better at using simple tech.
Handing over a cake or baking with a purpose to surprise someone, fills me with joy.
EG - Ventriloquist
My name is Elliot and I am a budding and enthuastic Ventriloquist.
I am often found down at The Four Horsemen Pub in Bournemouth alongside Mr McCow. Elliot writes his own material with the help of Tony Rudd.
Here at The SAMEE Charity they are really helping me build my marketing and promotion skills. I am also looking at expanding into events and parties.
JHa - Film Editing
Hi, my name is Joshua. I like films and I would like to be a movie director in the future. In 2020 during lockdown, I bought two films, The Joker (2019) directed by Todd Phillips, and Midway (2019 directed by Roland Emmerich.
These films inspired me to find out more about movies, their directors, and the Oscars. In Septemer 2024, I filmed by brothers wedding and I used my camcorder for the first time.
I struggled to use the Camcorder because my hand started to shake, so now I use my phone to film and edit my productions. At Christmas I filmed and edited the Christmas lights at Bournemouth Winter Wonderland. I felt great because I put the camera exactly where I wanted and got all the footage I wanted. During the filming of the lights, I panned my camera around the scene and captured the footage I needed.
In the future I wanted to develop my love of movies, and I hope movies last FOREVER! I want to become a Movie Director where I can direct Horror, a Foreign Film, and an Action film!
LM - Assistive Technology
Hi, I’m Lucas, I am 23 and passionate about all thing’s tech, especially software and ways it can improve and shape people’s lives. I would like to focus and improve on my accessibility knowledge and assistive tools for MacOS that empower people with visual impairments and other disabilities.
I run my own YouTube channel, and I like creating videos about trains and other topics of interest. When I’m not experimenting with new software or creating content, you’ll find me with my headphones on listening to my favourite dance tunes and I enjoy listening to football games.
Right now, I volunteer as part of a charity by helping others who are visually impaired get the most out of iOS VoiceOver, Windows and other accessibility features. I love showing people how to navigate their devices with confidence and discover apps that make everyday life easier.
My goal is to grow this into a business as an advisor, helping the visually impaired community manage tech, explore new software and unlock the full potential of Voiceover and assistive apps.
